Nothing is truly original.
Every design you see out there is built from something that came before it. There's only so many building blocks to go around. It's how you construct those pieces and give it your own voice, and style is what makes all the difference.
It’s all about how you can take someone else's ideas, but make them much, much better.
Now. There’s nothing wrong in copying an idea here, and there and using it in your own work.
But, and there is a big But.
Don’t just rip someone’s design verbatim and present it as your own. Never cool.
Copy ideas from it, but work out what could have been done better, and how you can improve on things. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Remember nothing you see is 100% original.
It’s all about how you can take someone else’s ideas, but make them much, much better.
By the way, if you want to really save yourself hundreds of design hours, my Design System for Figma; Cabana is now available.
